Psalm 36:5,6 “Your steadfast love, O Lord, extends to the heavens, your faithfulness to the clouds. Your righteousness is like the mountains of God; your judgments are like the great deep; man and beast you save, O Lord.”
I am guessing that if I sat with each of you, one of the things that would come up in conversation is the weather and the lack of sunshine. This winter has really given us a view of clouds.. lots of them .. filled with rain and snow. I was reading this morning that many areas have broken records for days of rain. We sure don’t need to question that study do we.
As with most people, I love the spring. The new growth in the trees and the green of the bulbs poking through the cold wet ground give us a sense of hope. The signs of spring are there, yet the wet and cold continues.
Are you feeling like that with your walk with Jesus right now? We all do from time to time you know, you are not alone. We all get times that we face when life seems hard. Health issues, financial concerns, family worries and sometimes, life just feels hard.. just because it does. The verses this morning really touched my heart and so I wanted to share them with you. (I will head back to Luke next week)
These verses don’t say that God’s steadfast love is only in sunshine, as a matter of fact it doesn’t even mention the sun. His steadfast love extends to the heavens , and his faithfulness to the clouds. When we feel we are surrounded by the “clouds’ that life throws at us, we need to remember that even at those times God’s love is there. He is faithful to walk these times with us and carries us when we just feel like giving up hope. When you are outside today, stop for one minute… look up… see the clouds that are all around, be reminded that even in days like these He is there. His love surrounds you like the clouds do, be reminded by these clouds that he is faithful, always, even when we can’t see through the clouds. Hold fast to that promise and breath deep the fresh air of His love for you.
If it rains today, remember .. blessings rain down on us and sometimes we need to wait to see the sunshine to see the blessing that was in the rain. He sees it all and is faithful and loves you through it all.
