Ashley’s third surgery was done last week and now we wait on more healing to take place (She will have an update when she is up to it to get specific details) We are so thankful for faithful prayers and friendship from family and friends.
This last while I have been drawn to think of Job an awful lot. I was feeling really badly there for awhile that I let my brain even begin to compare our journey right now in reflection of Job. Oh my the things that man went through!!!! It doesn’t negate that this time right now is hard,… stinking hard!
I decided tonight that instead of pouring my heart out here with my grumblings, or fears that I would just share some verses that I am clinging to. God’s word; – our bibles, aren’t tow ropes that drag us through life that we hang on with no hope. We aren’t meant to use the verses in cliche filled conversations, or just on our walls or Facebook pages. The words within the bible in my mind are meant to be used as an guide to the anchor. The words in the bible are attached to the one who gives strength, life and purpose… Jesus… His word leads us to the anchor… Him. Just as the chain or rope that is attached to a boat anchor moves within the water and the anchor holds the boat within its reach, so God’s word holds us to Jesus through the troubled waters in life, even when emotionally we feel like we are drowning.
Ashley’s path home has had twists and turns that daily challenge my heart and work the depths of my faith. I am hanging on to an anchor, not to a waving tow rope dragging me in. These verses are my chain right now leading to Jesus my Anchor. I hope that you will be able to find some peace in these verses.
