Why even bother voting?

“Do the unexpected. Take 20 minutes out of your day, do what young people all over the world are dying to do: vote.”
― Rick Mercer

Do you believe your vote counts?   Do you believe you have a voice that is going to make a difference?  If you don’t, you should!

Tomorrow, Monday October 21, 2019 as a Canadian you will be given the privilege to vote, or you may have gone to the advanced poll as did we.  Either way your vote will affect who the next Canadian ruling Prime Minister for the next four years will be.    No matter who you may vote for, your vote could be that one vote that could swing your preferred candidate in the direction of Prime Minister.

As people we are very loud about our opinion with our friends and family and on social media, but when it comes down to going to the appropriate voting station and putting our “x” on the ballot, historically the voter turn out is very disappointing.    Let’s change that this time around, take the time to vote.

Take your children with you, teach them the importance and seriousness of this act of freedom.   Let them see that in this process there isn’t anything scary about it, it is a few minutes… that it is important and that it is a privilege.   My Dad fought in the Second World War for the freedom we have to vote.  He lost many friends during his 3 years and 6 months away, but they all were there for our freedom.  Freedom to have a voice.

Young people need to vote. They need to get out there. Every vote counts. Educate yourself too. Don’t just vote. Know what you’re voting for, and stand by that. Nikki Reed

We will be watching the TV very closely tomorrow night for the outcome, it is being laid out as being close between two parties.  Your voice, in your riding could be the deciding vote…. please vote.   Be the change this country needs by being a voice… your voice.

Not voting is not a protest. It is a surrender. Keith Ellison          Read more at https://www.brainyquote.com/topics/voting-quotes
