Most times when we think of a 1st birthday it conjures up memories of a 1 yr old digging into a cake for the very first time. It brings smiles and a sense of happiness.
This 1st birthday is not about a child turning one, this one is the first birthday without my Mom. I have described her many times in my blog and so I am confident you might have been given a small glimpse into who my Mom was.
Revelation 3:20 “Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and eat with him, and he with me.”
In June Mom went home to be with her Lord and Saviour Jesus and I am confident she is happy and enjoying the days she gets to have at his feet worshipping him. For us here, there are a lot of firsts, this is our first birthday without her with us. Her smiles, hugs, songs, words of wisdom and laughter are missed greatly.
Ephesians 2:8-9 “For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast.”
I would be amiss if I didn’t share with you one more time what my Mom lived for. It was to share the love and message from the one she served so faithfully, Jesus Christ. Her message, and mine too is this. No matter what, you are loved. No matter what, you are forgiven. No matter what, you are never alone. No matter what…. He is there. She believed the Bible to be true and even though she didn’t understand everything and couldn’t answer all questions, she accepted all of it in the same faith as she gave when she asked Jesus to become her Lord and Saviour. He won’t barge in, He waits… patiently, longingly for an invitation in your life. To pour love and forgiveness, strength and courage to walk this life. To be able to pour your burdens on to Him, to know this life does not leave you alone, He is there. Please take a few minutes and consider opening your heart up to the saving love of Jesus. He walks this life with us daily, and is preparing a home for us with Him in Heaven… He is waiting. And, my Mom is there waiting for you / us too!
Romans 10:9-10 “That if you confess with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved.”
Happy Birthday Mom… we will celebrate your life in our hearts and memories and tears. Thank you for sharing Jesus with us, we can’t wait to worship him together with you. I love and miss you deeply.
Hugs n’ Prayers,
