I opened my curtains and what did I see?
This beautiful sky staring back at me.
I was amazed at its beauty and stepped out through the door.
I was greeted by a fresh breeze my soul was hungry for more.
Our curtains in life surround us each day.
We can make our choice to open or behind them to stay.
Behind them feeds fear of the things that are unknown.
But open them freely and new hope we are shown.
Our world is in torment with this virus so heavy.
The news floods our minds with bad news oh so steady.
Yet, open the curtain of this fear a wide
And see more of what’s happening on the curtains other side.
Kind words, calls and sharing come from strangers unknown
Nurses, Doctors, Police and first responders sometimes standing all alone.
Giving lifesaving blessings with hand and with heart,
Knowing all to often selfless acts they will soon impart.
Store Clerks, Garbage Truck drivers work with often no thanks,
Yet daily do their part too in this fight with the worldwide ranks.
Of people who give of themselves as essential
While putting themselves aside to give us hope with potential.
Many policitians who face all the cameras daily,
With question of some that make sense, while non-sensical ones are plenty.
The tears in their own hearts show not through their words.
Their own hearts must be heavy as they wait for calm to occur.
So don’t hide neath the fear of this time in our world.
But open wide your curtains see blessings and let your hope not be unfurled.
Hold tight to the promise we are never left alone,
From a Father in heaven, we are loved and we are known.
Choose today to find peace in the good that you see
Surrounding you daily as gifts to you and to me.
This time in our history is a heavy deep tide.
But blessings are there a plenty just open your curtains awide.
