My Dad is just one of the many blessings of which I am thankful to God for. Yesterday marked a day that my Dad has been aiming towards for many years, turning 100 years old. What a milestone to cross and what a wonderful day to celebrate. He was overwhelmed at the joy of having his kids, some of his grandkids and great grandkids together yes, his sister Grace and her husband Mal, yes, but what overwhelmed him so very deeply was the wonderful tribute he received from the Nanaimo RCMP Detachment.
There was an honour guard of several of the local members in Red Serge that brought Dad’s heart right back to his days serving in the RCMP. The current members, veteran members and dignitaries of the RCMP paid tribute to Dad in such a beautiful way to celebrate Dad’s service in the Army and the RCMP for his 100th Birthday. I could go into much detail but won’t, I will let the pictures do the talking .
Thank you to all who participated yesterday! Thank you for you showing the true heart and care of the members of the RCMP for one who served before them. Thank you for giving my Dad the celebration he longed for and the joy he so deserves.
